Posta Rangers has been Reinstated in the GoTv Shield Tournament after the club was disqualified for staging an ineligible player in their round of 64 match against TimSales FC.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has however announced that the club should pay KSh100,000 as a “punishment for their actions”.
The move by IDAC to have FKF reinstate Posta Rangers follows the Club’s appeal against being disqualified from the GoTv Shield competition.sAnd today, in a ruling sent to FKF CEO Robert Muthomi, IDAC has directed the CEO to find a less punitive punishment for Posta Rangers and ordered for the club’s reinstatement in the GOTV Shield tournament.
“I have received and acted on IDAC’s directive by reinstating Posta Rangers to the GOTV Shield tournament,” said FKF CEO Robert Muthomi.
“I have, also, in accordance with the IDAC ruling fined Posta Rangers Ksh 100,000 for their actions,” added Muthomi.
According to an official who sought anonimity Posta Rangers is thrilled to have been reinstated in the competition but have vowed not to comply with the order from the Federation to have them pay the fine imposed on the club as a punishment .
However the club officials are accusing FKF for not communicating to them in time about the rule book the federation claims to have sent the Club.
He told Ghetto Radio that “We were left stunned when FKF CEO Robert Muthomi ordered the Club to pay a fine of Ksh.100000 imposed on us for not complying with the guidelines on the rule book which the Federation claims to have sent.”
“To date I have not set my eyes on the Rule book”.
Posta Rangers will now play the GOTV Shield tournament round of 32 against Ushuru tomorrow Friday, September 16, 2016, at the Nyayo National stadium, with the winner of the match taking on Agro Chemical in the round of 16, next week, Wednesday.
