The re-introduction of Michuki laws has seen drivers have a last minute rush to meet the required standards  with some using garages as hideouts.

Some of the mechanics from Ngara who spoke to Ghetto radio have said that most of the matatus in the garage have come there pretending to be fixed while they are escaping the crackdown that is ongoing.

The mechanics say when the evening comes they get out of the garage to continue with their businesses.

The Michuki laws require that all vehicles be painted with a yellow line that has the routes it plies indicated on it,they be fitted with speed governors and also the matatus should have functioning safety belt.
