Kakamega Homeboyz have appointed Mike Mururi as their new head coach for a one year deal.
Mururi takes charge of the recently promoted Homeboyz with immediate effect to succeed Leonard Saleh.
The club affirmed the move on Wednesday January 6 saying that Mururi’s appointment is due to his long experience in the local league.
“We gladly announce the signing of Mike Mururi as the head coach as we prepare to face the KPL experience head-on. Mururi is a coach of high regard and we believe in him to guide us towards our targets,” the club’s secretary general Gilbert Alushula confirmed.
Mururi who is the 2014 KPL Coach of the Year was sacked by SPL side Chemilil Sugar last August amid the club’s abysmal performance.
Homeboyz managed a second place finish in the FKF-PL behind Posta Rangers.
Both Homeboyz and Rangers received the nod to the top-tier.
