Homa Bay governor Cyprian Awiti has bounced back in Homa Bay as the Supreme Court ruled his election valid.

Supreme Court judge Jackton Ojwang in his ruling also faulted the lower courts for ignoring scrutiny report.

The petition challenging  Awiti’s election was filed in September 2017 by former Kasipul Member of Parliament Oyugi Magwanga.

The suit originated from the High Court and headed to the Appellate court. Both courts nullified Awiti’s victory in the August 8, 2017 elections.
