Argentanian striker Gonzalo Higuain move to Chelsea on loan from Juventus has been confirmed for the remainder of the season.
Higuain will rejoin his former boss at Napoli Maurizio Sarri with the club having an option to extend the loan or buy Higuain
He spent the first half of the campaign on loan at AC Milan, where he scored eight goals in 22 appearances.
Talking to the Chelsea website he says when the opportunity to join the club arose he could not decline.
He said” It’s a team I’ve always liked that has a lot of history, a wonderful stadium and they play in the Premier League, a league I’ve always wanted to play in.”
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia says they expect Higuain to shine under Sarri since they have worked together before.
She said “He has previously worked with Maurizio to great effect and is familiar with how the coach likes to play.
The move to Stamford Bridge could see Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata join Atletico Madrid on loan having struggled to get a starting position under Sarri
