The High court has nullified the election of Bowen Kangogo as Marakwet East MP over irregularities.
Judge George Kimondo of Eldoret law court said the legislator did not win the elections in a free and fair environment.
Bowen’s election was challenged by voter Sammy Kemboi after he beat former MP Linah Kilimo by less than 1,000 votes.
Meanwhile The High Court in Nairobi has upheld the election of National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale as the Member of Parliament for Garissa Township constituency.
In a ruling delivered by Justice Hedwig Ong’udi, the court found a petition filed by former National Assembly Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim as one that lacked sufficient grounds to lead to the nullification of Duale’s win in a parliamentary election held on August 8, 2017.
Elsewhere Court has upheld Kisii governor James Ongwaes win.
