HFC unveils digital banking platform
Housing Finance Co-operative has this morning unveiled the HFC Whizz app to enable its customers carry out transactions on their phones in its banking section.
The app will enable customers withdraw, deposit, transfer money across mobile networks and borrow loans from the bank.
Speaking at the launch, Sam Waweru, the Managing Director mentioned that the digital platform was a way to grow and diversify its retail business.
He also stated that this was in response to the consumers’ demamd for a platform where they do not have to go to the banking halls.
“We are doing this in response to our customers’ needs,” he said.
They have been requesting for this because they don’t want to walk into the branch every time they need to do something.
The customers want to do it from the comfort of their homes and businesses.
This is at the speed of their lifestyle.”
Sam also mentioned that the app will help HFC to expand its business scope especially on the lending space.
He said that the micro entrepreneurs can now benefit through short term loans provided through the app.
“ How can we get more business lives coming on stream?
The whizz app enables us to lend short term loans to micro entrepreneurs and youth hustlers.
It expands our scope in business especially on the lending space.”
