Griezmann pens new Atletico deal

griezmanAntoine Griezman has signed a new deal with Atletico Madrid – snubbing a move to the Premier League Griezman has penned a deal until 2021, the club confirmed on Twitter this morning.

The France striker had been linked with Chlesea and Manchester United this summer with both clubs looking to bolster their attack.

The 25-year-old is with France at Euro 2016 and said: “I am very happy, very happy to stay in this family and in this project each year seek to improve and the club, the coach and my teammates let me.”

His future was called into question after Atletico lost the Champions League final to rivals Real Madrid and Diego Simeone suggested he may leave the club.

But Griezmann has now committed his future.

“The club wants to keep on top and put everything in our power to continue growing hope we continue like this and we can continue this progression,” a statement read.

The striker joined Atletico from Real Sociedad in 2014 and was impressive last season.

He scored 34 goals as Atletico finished third in La Liga and reached the Champions League final.

Griezmann added: “It is essential to stick with the major players, with coach We are lucky that the club wants to improve and be at the top. and it helps us to continue to grow.”
