Governance Institute calls on Government to establish new Lands commission

The National land commission chairperson and commissioners’ six year term is set to come to an end in February this year.

Chairman the Land Development and Governance Institute Ibrahim Mwathane has advised the government to urgently to put in place measures to recruit new commissioners.

The chairman also cautioned the government also  against leaving the office vacant when the  current commissioners exit.

He said this during a media briefing regarding service delivery in the land sector at Nairobi Safari Club

The national land commission assumed office in 2013 after being established by article 67 of the constitution
