Gor Mahia of Kenya will play Renaissance Sportive Berkane of Morocco in the quarter finals of the CAF (African Football Confederation) Confederation Cup on April 7th.The draws were done Wednesday evening at the Confederation of African Football headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
If Gor Mahia go through, in order to reach the Final in May, they would have to win the semi-final against either quarter finalist Hassania Agadir also of Morocco or African giant Zamalek of Egypt.
GOR Mahia will not have players like Fredrick Odhiambo,Harun Shakava,Laurence Juma,Boniface Omondi and Jacques Tuysenge playing in the quater finals.
In group stage, Gor Mahia were in Pool ‘D’ with Zamalek. Gor won their home tie in Nairobi 4-2 but slumped 0-4 in the return. However, the Kenyans finished second behind the Egyptians for a place in the knock-outs.
So focused are Simba in their Champs League preparations this time that they were represented at the knock-out draw with club chief executive officer Crescentus Magori and chairman Swedi Nkwabi in attendance in Cairo Wednesday.
