Gor Mahia players have blamed their huge loss to Everton FC at Goodison Park on Tuesday to bad boots.

The players say they lacked proper boots required to play on a stadium of such status as Goodison Park.

“For us to play well in that park, we needed boots that were two to three inches but we only had our rubber boots,” said K’Ogalo’s captain Harun Shakava.

Shakava’s sentiments were supported by his team mate Ernest Wendo.

Shakava cited lack of proper equipment as the other reason for their 4-0 loss.

Analysts have however blamed K’Ogallo’s loss to poor goal keeping and bad defending.

Oppositionleader Raila Odinga who was at Goodison Park yesterday called for the improvement of sports facilities to close in the football gap between Kenya and Europe.
