Gor fails to qualify for quarter-finals of the Confederations Cup

Gor-Mahia has been bundled out of the Caf Confederations Cup after going down 2-1 in the last match of the group against USM Algiers at the El Djezair Stadium.

The Kenya Premier League Champions , who made history by becoming the first Kenyan team to make it to the group stages of the tournament.

Going to Algiers, the Kenyan champions needed nothing short of a win but things did not go their way.

Prince Ibarra goal which was scored in the 35th minute and the second by Amir Sayoud in the 80th minute ensured the home team finished top of Group D with 11 points.

Gor Mahia’s only goal was scored by Jacques Tuyisenge in the 82nd minute with USM goalkeeper Mohammed Zemmamouche failing in a bid to claw the header off the line.

After winning their 17th league title Kogalo now turns their focus to the Sportspesa Shield Cup.
