Githurai residents are appealing to the Nairobi County Government come up with an amicable solution to deal with the Githurai Clayworks dam that is allegedly claimed many lives over the years.
The residents claim that apart from claiming lives, the dam is being used by criminal elements to aid their criminal activities.
Those who spoke to Ghetto Radio News say that some criminals are using the dam to dump dead bodies.
Last month six bodies were pulled out of the dam by local residents after a Githurai bus plunged into the dam injuring several hours.
The accident sparked outrage amongst the area residents who demonstrated for the better part of the day demanding action from authorities over the dam.
The dam was dug by the Clayworks company more than two decades ago when mining for their products.
The dam also borders a football pitch and the players have launched complains saying it has become a threat to their lives.
The players say the dam needs to be buried to provide an opportunity for their field to be widened to avoid more lives being lost.
