Gikomba market traders today took to the streets of Nairobi CBD to protest against the directive by the state to stop them from rebuilding stalls in the burnt areas.

The traders who were joined by colleagues from Korogocho market said they will defy the directive and rebuild the stalls.

Led by Winfred Kamau Chairman of the Nairobi Business Community say unless they are moved with dignity to better trading places, the stalls shall stand.

They also urged the government to investigate the circumstances under which Gikomba market was burnt and the people claiming ownership of Gikomba land.
