Business  persons at Gikomba market in Nairobi have today snapped on Matatu operators for invading their business area.

They claim that the public service vehicles operators have turned the narrow Gikomba streets into their operation routes when escaping traffic jam along Jogoo Road.

Those who spoke to Ghetto radio News say that the detours by matatus have hindered them from conducting their business in peace, since the better part of their day is spent on struggling for space to have their goods accessed by their customers.

The traders further allege that police officers operating in the area are colluding with the matatu operators hence their inability to restore order in the market.

“It is not the first time such an incident is happening, and our pleas to the police have not changed the situation over time,” he stated.

“We want these matatu operators to stop plying this route, they should go back to Jogoo Road and deal with the jam as we also struggle to get our customers failure to which, we will be forced to take action, “ one of the traders stated.
