Juakali football has turned out to be the hub of football talent and has brought together the voice of the whole Juakali sector through football tournaments such as the upcoming Ghetto radio Juakali Football tournament set for thursday 17th October 2019 at Camp Toyoyo grounds
The Main reason behind the tournament is to bring the union of all Juakali garage workers in promoting social change ,check on their welfare and seek recognition from stakeholders to avoid previous harassment by the government over land grievances.
Juakali automobile industry has been facing eviction from authorities as most of their working areas are along roads such the Rabai road at Buruburu.
Speaking to Ghetto radio sports Jonathan Obonyo Organizer of Ghetto radio Juakali tournament says that Juakali has been facing eviction threats from the government and yet there is no place set for them for compensation.
“This tournament is set to bring the voice of all Juakali sectors by showcasing their hidden talent in football.” he adds .
The tournament has no immediate sponser but former woman rep aspirant and director at Nairobi Water and Sewerage company Karen Nyamu says she will be a supporting the tournament with uniforms.
The Juakali sector has provided employment for over 10000 youths and through this numbers great talent has emerged from football such as Bobby former captain of Allin Juakali FC who is now playing for City star and not forgetting Mika who is playing defense for Liberty and both are set to head for Europe in 6 months to further their training.
The tournament will start from 8.00 a.m with the following matches
- Jow mottos vs Artisan fc
- Tsunami fc vs Nozzle fc
- Kibra united vs Rada sports
- Allin Juakali vs Unido Fc
