Four suspected thugs have been gunned down by police officers in Eldoret Town, Uasin Gishu County.
The four were killed near Total petrol station along Uganda Road where they were allegedly planning to rob a hardware shop.
Eldoret police commander Johnstone Ipara has confirmed the incident, saying they have recovered a pistol and radio call.
Eldoret residents have for quite some time decried rampant attacks from criminal gangs.
Some claim that the thugs are colluding with police officers to conduct the attacks.
Last week, a group of Kipkaren residents in Eldoret stormed a police station in a bid to get the police to act on the high rate of insecurity.
