Former Kilifi Deputy Governor shot dead

Former Kilifi Deputy Governor Kenneth Kamto was today morning shot dead by unknown gunmen at his residence in Nyali, Mombasa County.

Kamto was shot dead at around 4:45 am by the gun men as he entered his residence.

The County Commissioner Evans Achoki confirmed the incident and said no arrest has been made so far.

According to the police, the ex-governor was waylaid by three gunmen who shot and killed him as he entered his home.

The gangsters who had covered their faces are said to have demanded money from the former deputy governor before they gunned him down.

Police have launched a probe to ascertain the motive of his murder and a manhunt for the gunmen who are still at large.

His body has been taken to Pandya Memorial Hospital Mortuary.
