Kenya Secondary Sports Association Chairman Peter Orero has called on Football Kenya Federation to work with the association to take the game to the next level.

FKF previously had a poor working relationship with the Secondary School Sports Association that organizes the secondary school ball games. This year’s games are being held in conjunction with the Copa Cola Championship.

Speaking at the start of Copa Coca Cola championship the Chairman bemoaned the wastage of talent as most of the promising players quit the game after high school.

The tournament is celebrating its 10th anniversary and has helped uncover grassroots talent from high school.

Among the players who have passed through the Copa Coca Cola tournament include Kenyan international Michael Olunga who plies his trade in China, Harambee Stars captain and English premier league side Tottenham Hotspurs player Victor Wanyama, Jamal Mohammed among others.

The copa Coca Cola is also part of Kenya secondary schools term 2 games. It is being hosted at hii school academy in Uasin gishu county. The games are under the ministry of education.
