Football Kenya Federation Thursday unveiled a new Technical Director in an event held at Villa Rosa Kempinsky,Nairobi.
Andrea Spiers, a UEFA Pro License holder, takes over from Patrick Naggi who served in the same capacity in the previous FKF regime led by Sam Nyamweya.
While confirming the appointment, FKF President Nick Mwendwa said the move was part of FKF’s commitment to comply with FIFA guidelines to have a qualified coaching instructor in that role.
Mwendwa also announced a new Partnership with Country’s Leading Betting Company Sportpesa.Under the new deal FKF and Sportpesa will work together to build a new generation of stars with a vision to have Kenya represented in the 2022 World in Qatar.
Speaking at the event SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri said the partnership is geared to the ambition of reviving grassroot football to feed the National team “feat that can only be fulfilled if we partner with the”.
“Today is a big day for Kenyan football and it marks the beginning of achieving the great dream of making Kenya the first country in CECAFA region to play in the World Cup”.
“At SportPesa, we wish to reiterate that we will work with FKF to recreate what Kenya has lost over the years at the national level”,added Karauri.
