Residents of Embakassi Tassia area are living in fear due to the rising rate of insecurity.

Speaking to Ghetto radio the residents say criminal gangs attack and rob them as early as 8PM.

The residents say the gang of four and above is made up of young boys aged between 15-18 years old who are armed with guns.

“These gangs of not less than four boys armed with guns have done a lot of damage in Tassia. Just the other day they entered a shop took money and walked out displaying a pistol telling their victims to follow them if they are brave enough. That means there is no security in this area.” A resident told Ghetto radio.

On Saturday evening a number of shops in the area were robbed and several residents mugged by one of the gang members.

The affected shopkeepers said a gang of seven armed boys stormed their shops and then went on robbing people who they met on their way.

“It was around 9:30PM when a group of four people came to my shop as customers, when I asked them what I can serve them they abused me and told me to lie down. That is when I noticed they were robbers.” One of the shopkeepers said.

The residents are calling on the area police to intensify patrols so as to restore security in the area.
