Kenyan detectives joined by the FBI and the UK’s Scotland Yard conducted a raid in a Madrasa class in Likoni Mombasa County.

The multi agency raid rescued over 90 children linked to an international human trafficking and terrorism ring.

The operation also led to the shutdown of the Madrasa and profiling of the children.

At least 20 of the children are foreigners from the US, Britain, Canada, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Zambia and Uganda.

Foreign agencies suspect some of children were being indoctrinated into terrorisms at the Madrasa situated within Majengo Mpya area.

They were living in poor conditions including suspected torture.

The Madrasa is registered as a rehabilitation center.

Reports indicates the UK government is investigating one case where an Islamic State returnee joined the center.

He had joined the group in Syria before he was sent back to Kenya by his parents under unclear circumstances and ended at the Madrasa.

Council of Preachers of Kenya officials denied that the Madrasa had any links to terrorism and human trafficking.
