Family Of Boda Boda Operator Killed By Police Appealing For Help To Bury Him
The family of the boda boda operator who was shot dead at the Mama Lucy Hospital in Kayole by a police officer is appealing for help to offset the burial expenses.
Boda boda Association of Kenya Chairman Kevin Mubadi has stated that the mother of 24 year old Daniel Mburu ihas approached him for help to help offset the burial expenses.
“Mburu’s mother was here and she made it absolutely clear that they are financially depreciated so we are trying to get a paybill number for contributions,” Mubadi said in an interview with Ghetto Radio.
Mburu’s mother lives in Korogocho slums in Embakasi North Constituency.
Meanwhile Boda boda Association of Kenya has called off its planned protest against the murder of Mburu.
Mubadi says that this follows the arrest and arraignment of the rogue police officer who had committed the heinous.
Mubadi stated that the association together with the family is satisfied with steps taken by the government including arraigning the officer in court and reprimanding him.
“Those calling for protests should stop. We don’t want to go that direction let’s follow the law…what we need right now is support on how we can give our colleague Mburu a befitting burial. The protests will instead cause more harm to the operators” he said.
The police officer Zadock Oyieka who shot Mburu is currently being detained in police custody pending investigations into the incident.
