A family in Dandora is asking for support to transport the body of their 35 year old sister who passed away while working in India.
Mary Wambui a mother of two is said to have gone to India last year November 17th to work.
Wambui’s sister Mercy Nduta says that on 18th February this year, the family received a phone call from Immigration notifying her of her sudden death.
“Unfortunately when the immigration officials called, they did not tell us what killed my sister. We would like to get answers from them and know what exactly killed her, and also get help that she comes back,” narrates Nduta.
Nduta told Ghetto Radio News says that, Immigration is asking for ksh 600,000 for the body to be flown home.
She adds that they are orphans and Wambui was their only bread winner and they cannot afford to raise such amount.
The family is therefore seeking help from the government and well wishers for support.
“When the immigration officials called us from India, they told us that we need at least Ksh. 600,000 to transport the body all the way from India to this place. We are orphans, we do not have money actually we hoped that her going to India was going to bring some bit of change to our situation. We are crying for help. Please help us,” cried Nduta.
