Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi yesterday rubbed Kenyans online the wrong way after a video of him swimming in a river butt naked went viral.
The video was allegedly taken at a river in Turkana where the comedian was touring.
Kenyans online said the comedian has crossed the line in his alleged search for money and should be arrested.
Consumer Federation of Kenya (cofek) has called for Omondi’s arrest terming the video as indecent exposure and asked that his sanity be tested.
Moral police Ezekiel Mutua was also not amused by the video prompting him to throw shots at the comedian.
“Using children in a manner like Eric Omondi did in the name of comedy is wrong. How sad that anyone looks up to this clown for a role model!” he wrote
“THE VIDEO in which comedian Eric Omondi is totally nude and playing with naked children in water is a tragedy. He has crossed the red line of indecent exposure and must be arrested, and put under medical test to ascertain whether its deliberate or if he is unwell #RipoffKenya” Wrote cofek on twitter
The comedian after realizing his mistake took to social media to apologize for his mistake but Kenyans would have none of it.
“I have been a comedian all my life… Many are the times that I have errored… Today was one of those days. I have offended so many. I did not in any way intend to offend anyone.” Erick wrote
Here are some of the responses from Kenyans online.
My problem is ERIC OMONDI is a role model, He recorded the video and posted it online. According to my learned friends this goes againstCoK 2010,on chap 6 leadership and intergrity,KICA act Sec 84, SoA and Children Act
I don’t see anything wrong with Eric Omondi’s video. Such episodes happen in upcountry daily. Those complaining must’ve been born in Nairobi and found Nairobi River stinky as raw sewer. Tembea Kenya!
Am jealous of Eric Omondi…That’s true freedom. Concurring Shame, fear and ego.
Nicki Minaj, kardashians and the like post nudes and we really feel entertained, Eric Omondi has taken it to a new level, we are proud of you son
