Citizen Tv’s Swahili news anchor Kanze Dena her anchoring job goodbye on Sunday June 10th in an emotional farewell from her colleagues.
Kanze was appointed deputy head of the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU) on June 5th putting an end to her broadcast career.
The 39 year old could not hold back tears as her colleagues gave her a proper farewell party live on air.
On her last bulletin on Citizen Nipashe, the station played some of her old clips from previous bulletins to commemorate her 15 year stay at the station.
Kanze’s colleagues threw her a surprise and even invited gospel singer Marcy Masika who sang her famous ‘wema wako’ song as the mother of one exited the station.
Emotions ran high for her as she gave her final remarks and she could not hold back tears neither could her tv sister Lulu Hassan.
“I can’t leave without appreciating you my sister Lulu. Without you there would be no Citizen nipashe. I’m sure you will carry on with this journey and I know you will do well,” She said
Kanze will soon take up her role at PSCU officially.
