Eight CORD and Jubilee legislators yesterday spent the night in police cells as the State moved in to crack down on hate speech.
The legislators who were earlier on at the CID Headquarters in Kiambu were remanded for four nights in the cells after the police asked for more time to investigate their cases.
The eight legislators included, from the Jubilee side, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria,Ferdinand Waititu of Kabete and Kimani Ngunjiri of Bahati.
From CORD was Junet Mohamed of Suna East, Aisha Jumwa of Mombasa, Johnson Muthama of Machakos, Florence Mutua of Busia, and Timothy Bosire of Kitutu Masaba
