A Section of Nairobi county MCAs allied to governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko together with goons on Monday stormed office of the acting County Executive for Finance Pauline Kahiga who is said to have fallen out with Sonko, ejecting her from office.
The group stormed Cityhall at 11 am just before Pauline was whisked away by her security following a tip off by her secretary.
Sources at Cityhall privy to the new bad blood between the governor and Kahiga have intimated to Ghetto Radio News that Kahiga has refused to pay top county lawyers on the pending bills list instead, she want to pay small scale business poeple who did business with the county.
‘‘She refused to obey the directive by the governor to pay lawyers being owed huge amount of money after sh. 1 billion was released by treasury last week that’s why the governor is not happy,’’ he said.
Meanwhile the MCAs have gone ahead and ‘installed‘ Trade CEC Allan Igambi Esabwa as the new Finance Minister despite being prohibited by the law.
A document was later circulated in the media showing degazzetement of Pualine Kahiga through acting county secretary Lebo Ole Morintat which is also a violation of public finance magement act.
Meanwhile minority whip Peter Imwatok has warned Sonko against interfering with operations at Cityhall saying the governor is going against his bail terms.
‘‘Several CECs and chief officers have complained to me about this issue of intimidation and have said it severally … you can see what Kahiga went through today… we want to tell Sonko to pay poor Nairobians not top lawyers with huge pending bills who inturn offer kick-backs.’’Imwotk said.
Kahiga later recorded a statement at the KICC police station.
