The Council of Governors has now agreed to pay doctors for the 100 days they were on strike.
Addressing the media on Monday the out-going COG chairman Peter Munya said the move was reached on humanitarian grounds.
The council did not however shy away from hitting out at the doctors further warning them on future strikes.
Governors had refused to pay doctors for the strike days after which the practitioners threatened industrial action.
Meanwhile Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok was elected the new Council of Governors chairman taking over from Peter Munya.
Taita Taveta Governor John Mruttu was re-elected deputy while Kiambu’s William Kabogo will be the chief whip replacing Ukur Yatani of Marsabit.
