When news broke back in September that rapper Octopizzo was in talks with Gengetone artistes Sailors Gang for a possible new project, fans were super exited.

The rapper has not had any collaborations since dropping his song ‘Past’ featuring Nitasha Randhawa in February 2018.

The rapper also took to social media to hype up the song with new kids leaving fans in anxiety.

“1st Colabo in 2yrs Na ju Hii ngoma ina mtu sita, hatuezi ngojea hadi 8th. Tomorrow November #6th saa Sita na Dakika Sita, itakua getha ya kusita sita. Katashuta sana Kesho, si ati nini. #Sailor #DON” he wrote

On 6th November the rapper shared the latest project dubbed ‘Wakiritho’ on his official Youtube channel much to the excitement of fans.

Barely 24 hours after it’s release, Wakiritho is already trending at number two on Youtube  with over 121k views.

However what most people don’t seem to have noticed is the resemblance in the song’s beats with another popular song on Youtube.

It is not yet clear whether the rapper holds the rights to the beats used in the song or the beats were lifted from French producer Dj Snake’s Loco Contigo.

Dj Snake featured Colombian rapper J Balvin and American rapper Tyga in ‘Loco Contigo’ which premiered on Youtube on June 13th 2019 and already has over 179 Million views on the music platform.

Despite the similarity in the beats which were obviously sampled from Dj Snake,J Balvin and Tyga’s Loco Contigo fans seem to have really enjoyed Octopizzo’s vibe in the song.

Netizens lauded him for the ‘clean’ music which many felt has proven that Gengetone does not have to be sexual to sell however it is going to be the new stoners anthem for sure.

Listen to the two songs below and be the judge:
