DCI detective arrested for coning relatives
A DCI detective based in Kisauni has been arrested for coning his two relatives money in 2017.
Constable Edward Mwaniki Kabachia reportedly obtained money from a lady by lying to them that he will be able to get them jobs in the Kenya Prisons Recruitment exercise in 2017.
“Police Constable Edward Mwaniki Kabachia, a DCI detective based at Kisauni has been arrested following an incident where he obtained a substantial amount of money from a lady by falsely pretending that he was capable of securing her two relatives job vacancies in the Kenya.. Prisons recruitment exercise held in 2017,” said the DCI in a statement.
Kabachia’s arrest comes after an inquiry concluded by the DCI in Likoni recommended that he be charged with the offence of obtaining money by false pretences.
“His arrest follows conclusion of an inquiry by DCI Likoni where it was recommended that the officer be charged with the offence of obtaining money by false pretences contrary to Sec 313 of the Penal Code,” the statement further read.
He will be arraigned today.
