CSs Sicily Kariuki, Margaret Kobia fail to appear before parliamentary committee over NYS

Public Service cabinet secretary Margaret Kobia and Health counterpart Sicily Kariuki have snubbed summons by the National assembly Public Accounts committee over the NYS scam.

The two were to respond to queries raised by the auditor general in his 2014 to 2016 financial year’s reports.

Gender PS Safina Kwekewe and Planning’s Julius Mula, however, appeared before the committee led by Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi.

While noting that the matter under investigation in weighty, Mula told the MPs he had no capacity to adequately address it.

Chairman Opiyo Wandai says they will deliberate on the matter and settle on a new date
