COVID-19: Marriage services suspended till further notice
Marriage services at Sheria house have been suspended till further noticed following a huge number of Kenyans who visited the offices seeking marriage services.
The office had been partially re-opened on May 18, 2020 for selected marriage services and a huge number of Kenyans turned up raising fears over the spread of COVID-19.
In a statement issued by the Registrar General Mary Njuya, the offices will be closed temporarily to allow for measures to be put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19.
“Following the partial-opening of selected marriage service on Monday 18th May 2020.It was observed that the number of clients who visited Sheria House seeking the same was overwhelming and went against the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health in curbing the spread of COVID-19 virus.As a result, the Office has temporarily halted all marriage services in order to develop a clear road map on reopening in an organized manner as guided by the Ministry of Health and to further ensure that safety measures are undertaken in the workplace ” read the statement
