County government workers who have not received their July salaries have today begun strike a move geared to pile pressure on the respective county government to pay them.
In an interview with Ghetto Radio News Kenya County Government Workers Union Secretary General Roba Duba says about 20 counties staffs are on strike and that they will not work until their salaries hit their account.
‘‘According to our record 27 counties have complied with our calls and they have paid workers other 20 counties are still playing politics with empty promises.’’ Roba said.
He further faulted some governors Machakos governor Alfred Mutua included for not taking the matter seriously.
‘‘Governors like Mutua of Machakos, Prof Anyang Nyongo of Kisumu insist that they have no money and they can’t engage our members, this is arrogance and we shall not allow it.’’ He added.
