Traders in Nairobi’s Kamukunji area today counted losses after their business stalls were demolished by Nairobi County bulldozers.

County officials had given the traders a notice back in July to vacate the area in order to pave way for the construction of a road.

Speaking to Ghetto Radio News, one of the affected traders accused Nairobi governor Mike Sonko of lying to them about halting the demolitions only for his officials to show up and demolish them.

They are now appealing to Sonko to get them an alternative place to conduct their businesses.
