A family in Nakuru is seeking justice after the convict in their son’s murder case went missing from police cells.

Addressing the media outside Nakuru Law courts on Thursday, the family led by Mr. Vincent Mathea, said the suspect, Samson Khamari, the convict in the murder of their son Martin Mathea, pleaded guilty on December 18 2018.

Khamari was reportedly set to be sentenced on Wednesday 2nd only for them to be informed that the convict had disappeared under unclear circumstances.

The family now wants the police to explain how Khamari dissapeared from their cells terming the incident as negligence on the part of police.

The family also added that the two police officers who were on duty while the incident took place have been interdicted.

Nakuru Deputy OCPD Daniel Kitavi however said he had not received any information on the same.

The family now says their life is in danger because the suspect knows where they live and their identities.
