Controversy has now erupted on how much revenue Nairobi city county government collected in the financial year 2017/2018.
This is after the acting executive committee for finance Charles Kerich gave a different figure from what was issued by the Nairobi revenue collector firm Jambo pay.
In his recent statements Kerich stated that the county collected 8.2 billion shillings and when appearing before the ICT committee Jambo Pay termed it as lies and cooked figures saying the firm realized 9.8 billion shillings.
Finance officer Jambo Pay Dominick Kipkosgey however, defended the firm saying it has done its best in fixing loopholes that make the county government lose funds.
Meanwhile ICT chairman Osman Adow has warned the county government against terminating Jambo Pay’s contract at this stage saying the county has not sourced any company that can do revenue collection better then Jambo Pay.
Nairobi county government has projected and passed a budget of 32 billion shillings in this financial year with 15 billion shillings expected to come from revenue collected.
