Kenyans on social media have been angered by a Chinese national who publicly disrespected president Uhuru Kenyatta.

The man, Liu Jianqi, was captured on camera insulting Kenyans and president Uhuru Kenyatta, calling him a “monkey”.

The man was speaking to a Kenyan man who was secretly recording him. He said he  hates Kenyans and the country because they are “poor”, before he goes on to say that Uhuru Kenyatta is just  a “monkey”.

The video, which has fast gone viral online, irked millions of Kenyans who took to different social media platforms to call for the man’s immediate arrest and deportation.

The video emerged barely hours after an unknown number of foreign journalists were arrested following an intensified government crackdown on illegal immigrants.

Sources in the Interior Ministry say the Chinese man was arrested last night and is is currently at the airport awaiting deportation.

The Immigration Department has said that it has revoked his work permit and he is on his way to his country.

“Chinese National by the name Liu Jiaqi who was captured on video yesterday using abusive words has been arrested. His work permit has been canceled and will be deported on racism grounds,” the Immigration Department said on their Twitter page.
