China, Ethiopia grounds all Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets

The Chinese government has grounded all Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets, after the ill fated Ethiopian Airlines plane crash on Sunday morning

The plane of the same model crashed shortly after take-off killing all 157 people on board.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China said in a statement on Monday morning that all domestic Boeing 737 MAX 8 jets would be out of action due to its principle of “zero tolerance for safety hazards.”

Ethiopian Airlines on the other hand grounded all its Boeing 737 Max 8 fleet on Sunday, hours after the air disaster near the capital Addis Ababa.

A statement from the airline said they are grounding the planes till investigations into the Sunday crash are concluded

“Following the tragic accident of ET 302/10 March B-737- 8 Max (ET-AVJ), Ethiopian Airlines has decided to ground all B-737-8 Max fleet effectively March 10, 2019 until further notice,” the statement said
