Kiamaiko slaughterhouse traders are now pointing an accusing finger at cartels in the meat business for havin a hand in the closure of the slaughterhouse by NEMA.
The angry businessmen are specifically accusing a businessman in Luckysummer who is in the meat export business for ordering the shut down of the slaughterhouse in order to gain clients.
They claim that the businessman’s export business has gone down after he allegedly fell out with brokers in Dubai.
They faulted NEMA for shutting down the business without proper notice despite their efforts to maintain hygiene and all health and license requirements in the slaughterhouse.
The slaughter houses remained shut today after NEMA ordered their immediate closure yesterday after their two year extension stay expired.
