Caretaker who was shot in the Leg in Huruma, passes on at KNH
On Wednesday May 20th Ghetto Radio highlighted the plight of Paul Juma who was fighting for his life at Kenyatta National Hospital after he was allegedly shot in the leg.
Juma had stepped out of his house on Tuesday night to go lock the gate at the apartment where he is the caretaker when he was allegedly shot by an officer from Huruma Police Station.
Speaking to Ghetto Radio at the time, Juma’s wife said they were in the house before he decided to go lock the gate and that is when she heard gunshots.
“He went outside at night to lock the gate, but also decided to check on his hens which sleep in a shelter next to the gate. That is when I heard gunshots. When I went outside I found him lying on the ground. The officers were still there, I cried to them but they didn’t respond they just left.” She said
Juma was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital in a critical condition.
According to reports from the family, Juma passed on at the same facility on Thursday May 21st.
Benard Otieno, Juma’s brother says his brother succumbed to his injuries as a result of excessive bleeding.
“The doctor told us that he died as a result of excessive bleeding. We have reached out to Huruma Police Station and the matter is currently being handled.” He said
