Caf Confederation Gor-Mahia held USM Algers humiliate Yanga

Kenya Premier League defending Champions Gor-Mahia were held to a 1-1 draw by Rwandan Club Rayon Sports in their opening Group D match of the Caf Confederation Cup at Nyamirambo Stadium in Kigali, on Sunday.

Meddie Kagere opened the score for Kogalo later on Eric Rutanga levelled for the hosts with a great free-kick to ensure both teams head for the break tied.

USM Algers hammered Young Africans (Yanga) of Tanzania 4-0 to take control of Group D.

Oussama Darfalou gave the Alegerians the  lead in the 4th minute.

Farouk Chafaï made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute for a comfortable scoreline at the half-time break.

On resumption, USM Algers continued to dominate the Tanzanian giants with Abderrahmane Meziane adding the third goal from a right footed shot just outside the box after Ayoub Abdellaoui had delivered a cross.

Gor will face Algeria’s USM Alger at home in their next match of the Caf Confederation Cup as Rayon travel to Tanzania to tackle Young Africans.
