Bridge International marks day of the Girl Child

Bridge International’s has highlighted insecurity as one of the major challenges facing girls trying to access education in the informal settlements.

Kagure Wamuyu of Bridge International says the organization is trying to cap the insecurity challenge by taking quality and affordable education to the informal settlements.

This according to Kagure will help empower the less fortunate people in the society.

Bridge International on Thursday marked the International Day of the girl child at a Nairobi hotel.

Nairobi County Women Representative Esther Passaris who graced the occasion promised to support and work with Bridge International and improve education using the Bridge International model.

Passaris also pledged to buy re-usable sanitary towels for girls who are going to sit for their KCPE exams.

Passaris says her office will buy and distribute the sanitary towels in the next two weeks to aid the less privileged girls comfortably sit for their exams.
