Boda Boda Safety Association refutes claims the sector is full of criminals

Boda Boda safety Association chairperson Kevin Mubadi has refuted claims that the boda boda sector is  choking with criminals following a report by an investigating team.

Mubadi says such reports deter operations of a special task force formed by Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i and his transport counterpart James Macharia.

The said said task force is meant to spearhead reforms in the boda boda sector is expected to table its report next month.

The team is supposed to oversee implementation of the recommendations they have arrived at on policy, legal and administrative reforms, regarding public motorcycle transport.

According to the report by the investigating team, The boda boda sector is filled with criminals leading to high insecurity levels.

“These are just reports, the final report that will bring the policy will come from the task force and that is the only report that will have public participation that will later be tabled in Parliament for it to become a law.” He said

Mubadi has also urged boda boda operators to remain calm adding that the task force by Matiang’i will ensure the sector is managed accordingly.
