Ugandan singer Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine was last weekend honoured at the 3rd edition of the annual Pan-African Pyramid Global awards
The singer cum politician was awarded for his role in music activism at the ceremony held at Fairway Hotel, Kampala.
Bobi Wine who has in the past released several socially conscious songs aimed at rallying the masses to speak up for their rights received the Pan-African Pyramid Global award for being an African Musical Activist.
The Pan-African Pyramid Global awards seek to recognize individuals who are promoting African cultural beliefs and heritage across the globe.
The elate Bobi Wine took to social media to break the news saying, “ Just received the Pan African Global Award as a Musical Activist. I also got the honour of presenting the distinguished leader’s award to the late John Garang De Mabior represented by the ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan at fairway hotel Kampala.”
