Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant bishop Margaret Wanjiru has been arraigned in court and charged with malicious damage of property.
It is alleged that Wanjiru willfully and unlawfully destroyed four ballot boxes and papers valued at 30,000 shillings at a Jubilee polling station at the city park market.
Wanjiru has also been charged with creating disturbance and disrupting the voting process for the jubilee party primary nominations.
The prosecution has however objected to the accused being granted bail stating that since the accused is an influential person there is a likelihood that she may intimidate the witnessess and they are yet to record statements.
Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi will make his ruling on whether to grant her bail or not this afternoon.
