Bethuel Sallah carded an impressive 43 points to win the inaugural Hackers and Choppers golf tournament held at Royal Nairobi Golf Club on Saturday.
Playing off handicap 23, Sallah had 19 points on the front nine before having an all par back nine to score 24 points to win the overall prize in the tournament sponsored by AAR Healthcare, Unilever, and Famous Grouse.
Shirish D Shah fired 40 points to win the men’s prize beating Kevin Owino who was runner up with 37 points.
For the ladies, Jeanne Cheptoo put together an impressive 42 points to emerge the ladies’ winner while Edna Thiongo was second with 40 points.
Thiongo also won the longest drive competition for the ladies.
- Kurgat was the guest winner with 38 points while J Maalu was the guest runner up with 36 points.
Following the success of the event, the Royal Nairobi Golf Club promised to make the tournament an annual event.
The tournament is sponsored by AAR, Unilever Lifebuoy, Macallan, Famous Grouse, Springboard Marketing, among other individual sponsors.
