Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi has finally resumed her office after a dramatic ouster that ended up in court 12 months ago.
Elachi was escorted back to her office by a section of ODM MCAs.
Elachi who resumed her office on Thursday morning, blamed the county assembly minority and majority leader for her woes.
Elachi says the two managed to intimidate the MCAs and her efforts to restore order in the assembly is what led to her ouster.
“I want to tell them that the county assembly will go back to rules and regulations… no MCA will travel abroad without the signature of the speaker,” said Elachi.
“I want to plead to Tuju and Sifuna that each member must sit in three committees as per the law,” said Elachi.
Elachi has also promised to fight the cartels and also ensure that even the hiring of the county clerk is done in a good process.
