The father of the six month old girl rescued from the Huruma building rubble has been reunited with his daughter.
Rescue workers early this morning pulled the six-month-old baby girl out of the rubble of the collapsed building four days after it collapsed following days of heavy rain.
Ralson Saisi Wasike positively identified his daughter Dealeryn Wasike at the Kenyatta National Hospital. The child’s age had previously been estimated to be one and a half year old.
“The child, who had been buried for about 80 hours, was found in a bucket wrapped in a blanket. She appeared dehydrated, and with no visible physical injuries,” the Kenya Red Cross said in a statement.
The whereabouts of the child’s mother are yet to be known.
At least 23 people have so far been confirmed dead after the six-storey residential block in Huruma crumbled on Friday night.
