Arsenal’s players could be hit with pay cuts if the squad fails to make it to the UEFA Champions League next season.Arsene Wenger’s men stand a risk of losing out millions of pounds worth of bonuses as well as the prospect of pay cuts if the Gunners fail to qualify for the Champions League.
It will be a heavy impact on Arsenal Finances should the club fail to make it to the European tournament as this will force many players risk their wages cut.The absense among the top four would be the first time in Wenger’s 21-year reign that the club and it could have big repercussions on the Frenchman’s future at the club.
The North London based side has faced a series of challenges in both domestic and European competitions registering poor results. They are currently out of the UEFA Champions League following a heavy defeat of 10-2 aggregate.
Arsene Wenger’s side also seem to have lost pace in their race for the Premier League title as they have dropped out of the top four after a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield last week. The Gunners are now five clear points adrift of Jurgen Klopp’s side but with two games in hand.
They however have hopes in the FA Cup having demolished Lincoln City 5-0 last week as the comfortable win saw them qualify for the semi-final stages of the domestic competition.They are set to take on Manchester City in the semi-final with each side looking to advance to the finals in May later this year.
Arsene Wenger will be out of contract at the end of the season and the French manager is yet to pen another deal as the pressure of his resignation from fans mounts.
